The Wii I promised to my son on his birthday 3 days after its launch finally arrived yesterday (after persistent pursuit, I finally managed to find one online at retail price!) He's 19 now, but has definitely grown up with Nintendo, and this was his one wish for his birthday. It was late, but quite anxiously awaited.
He was so excited, it was really fun to see. He had his first Wii related injury within 5 minutes playing the tennis game - he managed to scrape his knuckles on the ceiling... He was still up when we folded for the night, and when we got up this morning, we found him curled up on the couch, the Wii remote dropped out of his hand. All I could think of was when he was four, refusing to nap, but finally falling asleep in place in a similar pose.
It was nice to see the little boy inside the gruff teenager. Good to know he's still in there.

Where were you able to find one online? I keep stopping at the game store before they open each day (before I go to work) hoping they received a new shipment, but I haven't had any luck. I've been trying to get one since they released it. The only ones I see online are package deals for hundreds more that come with games I don't want. Any help or hints would greatly be appreciated.

I got ours at compusa.com. There's a fairly active discussion thread on the amazon site on the page where the Wii console is listed as not in stock. Nice people there will post when they find it - and I was lucky enough to drop in at that site at the right time. I did have to buy 3 games I didn't want, but I am planning to take those to exchange for others this weekend (that can then be Christmas presents!)
your boy is a lucky kid... You will be lucky to find a Wii in stock before Christmas 2007... Not even amazon.com has them on their site!!! If you (or your children) really want one to play with on Christmas day then fear not, i have found an internet bingo game which has seven Wii's(plus a whole load of other cool prizes) to give away in the weeks leading up to Christmas. All you have to do is sign up and play on game of bingo for money on any day during December (2007)... Me winning a game of bingo is probably the only way my son will be playing on a Wii this christmas! Eyes down please!!
All I want in life is to have fun and make some money, isn’t that what everyone wants? My kind of fun just happens to make me money too! I love playing poker or a good bingo game online for fun and this gives me the chance to win some cash at the same time! Even more so if there are some poker or on!
