One of the more common Designer actions, certainly. But we're encountering some challenges in making it work consistently from the client. So the question is, is this used often enough from the *client* that it is worth putting the effort into fixing, or should we just pull the menu from the client? I must admit I am leaning towards the latter... We'll still have View/Design to open up a specific db in Designer, so you can move from the client to the Designer in context... But you would then need to choose to create the form or outline or whatever once you were actually in the Designer. Would this be such a big move backwards in user interface we shouldn't even consider it? Or is this a rarely used convenience feature we can live without?

I've developped with Domino for a couple of years, and I've never used these links from the Lotus client.
Always select db > open in Designer, then create forms/views etc.
So I wouldn't miss that feature (and I would rather prefer that you focus your efforts on valuable things, ideaJam is full of good ideas ;).

The Create - Design menu doesn't exist in the Mac or Linux versions. So you're really just making the interface more consistent between platforms.
View design is all that's really needed in my opinion.
In about 5 years of Domino development I've never used this feature. Like Yogi, I've always used the DB -> Open in Designer option.
I never use that menu either.
I've been developing in Notes for 10 years and never used them. I have Designer open all day and do all my development there. I wouldn't miss it.

I very seldom use that menu and mostly open the Designer client first before creating a design element.
Never used it ten years - just asked my other developers and they've never used it either - always open the designer first

I have used this very seldom myself since I live in the Designer client, but what about users without a Designer client - how can they create a view (for example) if the menu is removed? Or am I missing something here?

15 Years of Notes development and never found it necessary to use.

Some power users in organisations i visit use these options to create their own agents/views, without having a designer client (or license).
This is good to hear, and I am happy to have so much to support removing this, as it would be a bit of work. We had wanted to remove it, but heard "through the grapevine" that it was a feature users felt was important... But that data seemed worth testing (and I'm very glad I did!)
In client only installs, users will still be able to create private agents/views, no worries!
This means that you'll remove it from the *client* only and leave it in the designer. I'll still be able to ALT+Create+Design+Form/etc in the designer, right?

I would say remove it. I have never used it in over 12 years. I did not even know it existed.
Sounds like it is a heritage from good old R3 (not sure though).
Just make it behave EXACTLY like the Mac and Linux clients. I can't emphasize that enough.

I'm all for removing those entries because it reduces the UI clutter Notes seems to suffer under. Doing Notes development for 15+ years I'm strongly advocating for making the client experience more streamlined from an end user's point of view.

Drop it. I've don't use it often.
There should also be a clear and clean line between the client and designer.
